Educating the public

There is a great deal of misinformation out there about psychiatric drugs and electroconvulsive shock therapy.

A large part of our role is to educate people with the facts regarding these treatments.

We are not anti-drug, we are pro-choice. We are pro-informed consent. We feel that much of the consent that is given today is not nearly so informed as it should be, and it is one of our goals to correct this informational deficit.

The mistaken impression that harmful practices and  toxic substances are somehow beneficial to the overall emotional stability of people in mental health treatment is just plain wrong.
